Normoxic Trimix Diver (OC, SCR, CCR)

A Normoxic Trimix Instructor or higher may teach this course. To teach Rebreather Normoxic Trimix, the Instructor must be an IANTD Normoxic Trimix Rebreather Instructor or higher. The instructor may teach only the category Rebreather CCR, SCR, or PSCR their Normoxic Rebreather Instructor qualification is on. Once qualified as a Rebreather Normoxic Instructor the instructor may use any rebreather they are at least diver-qualified on to teach Normoxic Rebreather Diver programs.

 
For example: A Rebreather Normoxic Trimix Instructor who trained as a Rebreather Normoxic Trimix Instructor on a CCR Evolution may teach a Normoxic Trimix Diver-level course while using any other CCR that the instructor is, at minimum, a qualified diver on. The Rebreather Normoxic Trimix Instructor may teach students on all Rebreathers the Instructor is diver-qualified on, provided they are Rebreather Normoxic Trimix Instructor in that category; CCR, SCR, PSCR.

Purpose

1. This Program is designed to train those who wish to dive to depths between 130 fsw (39 msw) and 200 fsw (60 msw), but who do not wish to breathe air below 130 fsw (39 msw). Trimix affords a means of reducing narcosis on dives to such depths.
   
2. (RB) This Program is further designed to train divers in the safer use of Rebreathers for dives using normoxic helium-based gas mixtures.
   
3. The knowledge and skills taught in this program are more than adequate to qualify divers to perform Trimix Dives outside of training up to 200 fsw (60 msw).
